Both fluoride and sealants are not a substitute for brushing and flossing on a daily basis.

In many cases, parents wonder why it is important to take care of their child’s baby teeth (or primary teeth) since they will only be replaced by adult teeth in a few years or less. When your child gets his or her first tooth, the American Dental Association recommends taking him or her for a dental examination within six months. Moreover, children who have a good relationship with their dentist are more likely to be well-behaved during dental visits and form good dental habits that will prevent costly dental work in the future.
